 Birding in the Parks

Whether you are an expert birder or an avid amateur, a nature photographer or just a nature lover, Sarasota County parks and natural areas offer some of the best opportunities to enjoy birding at its finest.

With more than 300 species of birds in Southwest Florida it’s not unusual to log 100 species in a day. The diversity of habitat in Sarasota County is a dream come true for birders, photographers, and all nature lovers.

Believe it or Not... Birding is good at the county landfill! (photos are of some of the birds seen there including Bald Eagles).

Try birding from a kayak using the Paddle Sarasota Guide as a reference.

 Great Florida Birding Trail
